Bois Blanc Island is a 275 acre piece of land on the western part of Amherstburg, Ontario Canada. For close to 100 years this island was known as Boblo Island and was home to an amusement park loved by Canadians and Americans alike. After it’s closure in 1993 the island’s re-development was fairly stagnant for a number of years. Recently, the island was purchased by Canadian developers who look to restore the island to all it’s glory with luxurious homes and cottages. Additionally, their hopes are to preserve the history of Boblo by rehabilitating many of the abandoned buildings that were once used for the attractions the island offered. In the summer months the locals take advantage of living on the water by enjoying water skiing, boating and sipping on cold beverages while taking in the tranquil views.
